ZeroSSL CNAME Issues for SSL - URGENT REQUEST

Hello Community,

I really need some immediate guidance.

I am at a cross roads and my client is becoming very agitated that her website is showing “not secure” as I would be too.

I have gone through the step by step process that you guys have provided to obtain a SSL through ZeroSSL. I also watched many YouTube videos to see if I was missing something in the steps.

I get all the way to the verify step and select the DNS (CNAME) option as there is not an email connected directly through the domain, and the CPanel does not give you an option to create one. It says that the CNAME can not be verified.

I tried CloudFlare for the SSL as well and that didn’t work either. The error was “too many redirects”.

My client is persistent on having free hosting. Her current website is hosted for free on WordPress. As you know the resource capacity is limited to be able to upload a Premium theme, and the free theme options are extremely limited in design, features, and page builders. They also do not give you the ability to upload additional plugins necessary for creative website design, unless you upgrade to a paid plan. This is out of the question for her.

Her old website: https://innersightliving.wordpress.com/

The new website: https://innersightliving.com/

I’m sure we can all agree that the new website is ten times better than the old one. I want nothing more than to be able to finish this project on the up and up.

If I can receive some direct help, I am willing to pay someone. Kindly email me at [email protected] or text/call me at 321-292-9040.

Warmest regards,

Cynthia

Hi,

Sometimes common mistakes cause CNAME records to be invalid for verification.

Here are a few steps that may fix your problem:

  • Double check your domain name while applying for a SSL certificate.

  • Make sure that you are creating the correct name records.
Do not append your domain in the “Record Name” field as it will be automatically included.
