WPForms Builder Stuck on Loading – 403 Forbidden Errors

Hello ProFreeHost Support,

My website https://aussieblognetwork.com is working normally, but the WPForms Lite form builder stays on the loading screen when I try to create or edit a form.

Plugin version: WPForms Lite 2.0.2.2

Problem: Several WPForms JavaScript, CSS, and image files return HTTP 403 Forbidden, including:

  • /wp-content/plugins/wpforms-lite/assets/js/integrations/ai/chat-element/wpforms-ai-chat-element.min.js

  • /wp-content/plugins/wpforms-lite/assets/css/integrations/ai/chat-element.min.css

  • /wp-content/plugins/wpforms-lite/assets/js/admin/share/chat-modal.min.js

  • /wp-content/plugins/wpforms-lite/assets/images/admin/tools/ai-mcp/ai-chatgpt.svg

I have already tried Chrome, Brave, Incognito mode, and deactivating/reactivating WPForms. The issue persists.

The same problem also occurs on my older website hosted on ProFreeHost.

Could you please check whether server security rules or restrictions are causing these 403 errors?

Thank you.

Hi aussieblognetwork, welcome to the community!

The files returning 403 all belong to WPForms’ AI chat features (note the “ai”, “chat” and “chatgpt” in their paths). Those paths match our server security rules, which block them on the free plan. These rules apply platform-wide and can’t be changed for individual accounts, which is why both of your sites are affected.

A couple of things you can try:

  • In WPForms, go to Settings > Misc and enable Hide AI Features, then reload the builder. If the builder no longer tries to load those files, it may open normally.

  • If it still hangs, consider an alternative form plugin such as Contact Form 7 or Fluent Forms, which work fine on our hosting.

Please note we can’t help further with troubleshooting individual plugins, but the above should point you in the right direction.

Thanks!
