unable to save changes .htaccess

Hello,

I am using Free hosting services and getting following issue.

I would like to make some changes to .htaccess file. I tried making changes directly through File Manager, or through FTP Filezilla, but it does not save the changes. I am not sure what is happening? I login to the site through cpanel with the details when I created the account. In FTP I see message Persmission Denies.

What should I do?

What @badbot is saying is, you cannot edit the root .htaccess (located
here: /home/vol6_1/unaux.com/unaux_********/.htaccess on the servers), but instead you should create a file .htaccess in your main website directory /htdocs/.htaccess
