Request to Enable curl_multi_exec() for WordPress Plugin Functionality (Smush)

Hello ProFreeHost Support Team,

I am writing to request the enabling of the PHP function curl_multi_exec() on my hosting account.

I am running a WordPress installation and am currently using the Smush plugin (by WPMU DEV) for image optimization. The plugin requires curl_multi_exec() to be enabled for its core functionality to work correctly, specifically for simultaneous image optimization tasks.

Currently, the plugin’s checks indicate that this function is disabled, which is preventing Smush from running effectively on my site.

  • Plugin in question: Smush (by WPMU DEV)

  • Function needed: curl_multi_exec()

Could you please review and enable this function for my hosting environment? Enabling this function will greatly improve the performance of my website.

Thank you for your assistance.

There was a-lot of abuse using curl_multi_exec() function. Unfortunately, this cannot be enabled.

However, as per Plugin documentation, your website should be working properly without it. It’s needed only for parallel processing.
