Impersonating error message

When I try to load the website, I receive the following error message.

How do you fix an error message that reads “This website may be impersonating X website” to steal your personal or financial information. You should go back to the previous page.

How do I fix this?

Hi there, which website are you talking about?

Innersightliving.com

She currently has her old website hosted through WordPress on a free account.

Her domain is https://innersightliving.wordpress.com/ on he free WordPress hosting.

I have created a new website through your free hosting. Her domain there is https://innersightliving.com.

My guess is that we need to remove her old website on the WordPress but I do not want to do anything and leave her without a working website.

Kindly advise ASAP as we both are getting pretty frustrated.

Thank you!

Looking at all the things you mentioned, it looks like there is a missing SSL certificate on your website which is causing this issue.

The “impersonating” warning you’re seeing is caused by a missing SSL certificate on innersightliving.com. Since your new site doesn’t have SSL installed yet, the browser flags it as potentially impersonating the old WordPress site (which has SSL).

The good news is you don’t need to touch the WordPress site, just install SSL on the new domain and the warning will likely go away.
