Cron jobs (cron-job.org doesn't work)

Hi! I was trying to set up 2 crons to run at 00:00 everyday, from cron-job.org, as I saw here

How can I add a cronjob

On ProFreeHost control panel (VistaPanel), the Cron Jobs is hidden or disabled to prevent background scripts from overusing server CPU. ProFreeHost’s security system also blocks most programmatic access (cURL) to ensure sites are primarily accessed via a browser. For this, you can add cron job from cron-job.org and point it to URL of your script.

But it seems it doesn’t work - as I tested, they receive: redirect + “This site requires Javascript to work, please enable Javascript in your browser or use a browser with Javascript support”

(Because of the anti-bot/anti-abuse practices I believe)

What can I do about it?

If cron-job.org isn’t working, its requests are being blocked by the same security system, and this can’t be whitelisted on free accounts.

As an alternative, you can trigger the task on visitor traffic e.g. save the last run date in a file or your database, and have your site check it on each page load. The task will run on the first visit after the scheduled time, so if you need it to run at an exact time.
