Although Profreehost allows you to establish an unlimited number of free sub domains, you may need to register your own domain with Profreehost free premium hosting if you have a small business website.
On any known domain registrar, like GoDaddy, NameSilo, etc., you can register your Top-Level Domain (e.g. yourcompany.com).
To setup your existing domain with Profreehost’s free web hosting, you need to follow the following simple steps:
1. Change Name Servers on your Domain Registrar Panel
To begin, go to your domain registrar’s DNS manager and update the name servers for your domain with the following name servers:
ns1.byet.org
ns2.byet.org
ns3.byet.org
ns4.byet.org
Note: it can take anywhere between 5 minutes to 72 hours for DNS changes to take effect.
2. Add Domain to Your Profreehost cPanel
Once the name servers are updated add your new domain to Profreehost account.
Login to your Profreehost account and then go to “Control Panel” of any of your (desired) website accounts and find Addon Domains:
Add your domain name. If your DNS is propagated, you will see a success message.
3. Upload Files to Right Directory
On successful addition, you will see a directory with name of your custom domain name in File Manager.
You can upload your website content/files in htdocs folder inside your domain directory.
That’s it. Now you can start working with your own branded website.
